    How Does Nelsonite Affect Glue?

    Since Nelsonite repels water, it should be applied after glueing where possible. It will improve the glue bond by making it more water resistant. Glueing after Nelsonite can be accomplished, glue bond will be less than 100% of glue bond however.

    What About Finishing Over Nelsonite?

    Nelsonite improves the staining operation by giving a more uniform color on most woods, especially end grain. Nelsonite will accept today’s water based finishes as well as the oil based finishes if applied according to directions and after Nelsonite has completely dried.

    What Is The Square Foot Coverage?

    Generally, 200 sq ft per gallon, some woods will absorb more than others.

    What Is The Shelf Life

    Original un-opened containers will last 25+ years. Once open, evaporation and air exposure frequency will decrease shelf life to about 9 months. Keep containers full to avoid this.
